Kiwi

I took this picture for our food assignment. I sliced a piece of kiwi relatively thin and placed it in front of a window that has direct sunlight coming through it. In Photoshop I turned the background black because the background was otherwise distracting. I think turning it black makes the kiwi and the color stand out much more.

I choose this photo for the Blog because I thought this was my best diptych/triptych . So if it caught my attention then I think it would catch the viewers attention therefore I would get a lot of comments which would make me feel like I did a great job. I really liked this project.

Lazy Saturday Morning

This picture was an assignment given to me in photography. I was told to take portraits of people outside of the class room. Instead of the hassle of dealing with an actual human model I decided to go a little bit different route. I was trying to 2 days to get good picture of Petey (my dog), but the first day he just continued to move and fidget all over the place. So the second day I woke up early and decided to go on a run with him. After the run I knew he would be dead, and want to lay down so I executed the plan, and it worked perfectly giving me a picture of him looking right at me just being perfectly still!

Here Kitty, Kitty

I looked at my cat one day, and said “kitty kitty kitty, come here kitty”.  So since she wouldn’t move, I walked toward her and snapped a picture of her sitting on a chair. She is such a beautiful cat and is perfect for portraits. This was the only picture I snapped, and it turned out great. I’m thankful I don’t have an ugly cat.

1st Barbeque of Spring

I really like this picture because of how in focus the food is and how the depth of field still shows what’s in the back but it’s not a crisp picture of it.  I took this picture outside after my dad had finished barbecuing dinner (it was really yummy). I like the fresh Spring colors of the salsa and the nice pink hue of the shrimp, along with the yellow of the shrimp. I like how the colors work together and how it’s such a simple picture but still has many items in it.  The one thing I don’t like is that under one of the front chips there is a green leaf and it’s kind of distracting but yet not. I just wish it wasn’t there.

Hang Loose

I took this picture during spring break when I was in Hawaii and I loved how the colors went together. The ocean had the color of a shiny turquoise, the sand a creamy white and the trees and plants a bright green. I liked the combinations of the colors a lot. I felt like I was in a paradise so I took a lot of pictures of it. It represents my view of my personal paradise.

A Rose

When I was looking for a picture to work on a triptych/diptych I chose A photo of a rose. I wanted to apply a lot of different photo filters to give the image a different feel. But it was very hard to choose the right color balance to where the image was still easily visible and had the right feel that I was going for. In the end I am very happy with this photo and it came out exactly how I wanted it to.

Adreena

The pictures I used for this project were from a previous assignment on portraits, I decided to use some of my portrait pictures for my Diptych/Triptych assignment. I used picnik.com for my collage set up, and then I edited the photo so it would be all the same color, I made about 7 Diptych/Triptych and out of all of them I chose the very first one I made.
