Twirling

I chose this for a blog post because it was from our most recent project the painterly project and I felt like this was the best project I have had.  I felt like I excelled at this. I like this picture because I took it from just a natural beauty at Franklin Pierce. I waited for the flowers to bloom around a tree and as I saw them fall off I took a picture of the area around and it turn into a twirling flower picture.

  1. I really like the colors that are mixing together in this photo, but it is a little hard to understand the point of the picture

The element of composition that I think is being used is balance because the photo is somewhat unbalanced with the dark smudge inside of it.

The focus of this picture is the middle of the swirl because all of the lines are leading towards the center

The mood that this photo reflects is curiosity because it makes me wonder what the point of it is.

  2. I don’t really like this photo the black is to much of a contrast and doesn’t fit into the color scheme

The photographer tried to balance the photo with the black smudge

The focus is in the middle where the swirls are leading to

If it was a little bit brighter the mood would be bright and sunny

  3. I’m not a big fan of this photo, I like the idea but it looks too busy with nothing really in focus, if I hadn’t read the comment it would have been hard to figure out what it was. If this was less blurry it would have been a lot better, however, I do like that the “clear” spot is on the rule of thirds line and not in the middle as it gives the picture more life. Maybe next time fade out the swirl a bit more so we can see what it is.

  4. I LOVE this picture. I really love how even though it’s blurry from the twirling motion, you can still see the vibrant colors of the flowers. It really makes it look like it’s spinning too, and the focus is in the middle.

  7. I love the colors. It’s almost as if you are looking down into a tornado. I like the photo itself except there is a small break in the continuation of whatever is spinning towards the bottom. The shutter speed could have been a little slower but that’s only me being picky. When I stare at it, it makes me feel like I’m falling into a portal.

  8. This is a very creative way of doing a slow shutter speed photo. I have never thought of making a circular slow shutter photo. The slow shutter is excellent it looks like its moving faster from the center point to the outside.

  9. I really like the pink in this picture and how the curved lines of the spinning draws you to the center of the picture.

  12. There is a main point in focus, such as the circle that if off to the side in the photo. I like the use of ROT (Rule of Thirds) in this picture. Like I said before the only focused part is off to the side of the picture. I like this photo because it makes me dizzy and I like to twirl around in circles.
