Quarter After

I took this picture at Franklin Pierce. Our assignment was to take self portraits, and right when I saw the bright blue sky I knew I wanted to incorporate that in my picture. Instead of shooting a plane Jane picture that everyone else does, and just shoot my face I took a little different route. I wish that the garbage can would not be there so that you could see the FPHS sign. It only reads part of the H, and S. This I turned in as my best self portrait photo even though you can’t really see what I look like.

Bumble Bee

I took this picture last year for the spring project. I thought it had nice depth of field, and good focus on the bumble bee. I tried to take it before it flew away or moved, and I was able to capture it while it was sitting on the flower. If I were to retake this image I would put the bee more in the center.

Life of a Cardinal

This picture was taken for a Self Portrait assignment. It was in my room and I used my own camera. I was taking sample pictures trying to figure out which level I needed my camera to be on to get the type of picture I wanted. I ended up taking a picture like this, and I liked it. This picture was somewhat an accident but turned out pretty good in my eyes.

Carving Mountain Snow

This photo was taken on a December morning at Crystal Mtn, Washington. Myself and the group I was snowboarding with were enjoying the fresh 7 inches of powder that Crystal had received the night before, we stopped for a break and I couldn’t help but to take a photo of our surroundings. What I like about my photo is how the image captures not only the range in the background, but how the fresh snow has been carved by our boards. Also the two groups of trees sorta frame the powder bowl range in the background.

Away From It All

This picture shows the embodiment of a lazy youth who is tired of sitting in class all day. He just wants to sit back and take a break and catch up on the game he is playing. He is tired of school he doesn’t want to go back to class he just wants to kick back and relax. He is willing to sit in a tree for some peace and quiet and relaxation.

Morning Tree

I took this picture at morning right on campus. I really like this picture because it wasn’t planned or anything. I was out taking photos and decided that the tree might bring out a good picture. The lightning was very good and the depth of field was perfect with no distractions. One thing that could have been better was if it was a tiny bit more in focus. Overall this is one of my favorite pictures even though it was when I was a beginning photographer.

Good morning Washington

I took this picture about the time when I first came here as an exchange student.  My host mother was making cookies in the morning and I just liked how the cookies looked so I took a picture like I do always with everything.  I like how the cookies look in the kitchen. They are popping out because the background colors (white, grey) are neutral. You can see repetition as well, which makes the cookies look more distinct. I like the focus on the objects too but I wish I would have used a little bit more of depth the field so that they would pop out even more.

I really like this picture because baseball happens to be my favorite sport. This pic was taken in the spring during baseball season and I really like that my main focus on the picture was only on the back corner of the plate with the little dirt that was spread on top of the plate.  Then I like how the rest of the dirt in the background is out of focus creating a good depth of field with the dirt in the front!

One Left

I took this photo on the ground near my church. I got out of the car and saw it laying on the ground and thought it was beautiful. I took this picture with my iphone, I wish I would have had my camera so I could of taken more detailed pictures of it. I love the contrast of the rocks on the leaf, and how you can see all the crystals of ice on the leaf. I also like the fact that the leaf is the only thing with ice on it, there is none left on the rocks. I love this picture because it shows the beauty of nature at its finest.
