Reflection

This picture was taken after it rained that’s how I found a puddle on campus. I really like this picture because it’s in focus and you can see there reflection in the puddle and it a great rule of thirds. I edit it in Photoshop so it would look even better. I adjusted the level and brightness/contrast made it a little brighter and a bit darker just so the clouds can pop out in the puddle.

  1. The reflection and the rain theme to the photo.

The subject uses space well almost framing but the legs throw it off, so space is used around the subject focus in the water.

I like the lighting because it’s a dark grungy theme although it has a light color in the water with the clouds behind.

The mood is a sad but at peace theme, due to the dark peaceful water.

  2. The main subject is in focus and the lighting/white balance isn't too soft or too harsh. The lighting enhances the clouds framed by the puddle. I like that the person looking into the puddle is cropped out, that way it’s not repetitive looking at the person and then their reflection. The tone is perfect for a rainy day. I like this photo because it’s cool how the person’s reflection is seen in the puddle and the clouds behind them. It’s not too much or too little.

  4. Nice creativity. I like how the subject shows only a part of themselves but is centered on the reflection of the puddle. Nice angle as well. The lighting is what I think makes the picture stand out. You get the mood of “Here I stand”.

  5. The colors in this picture are just amazing. The blacks work very well and you feel like maybe there really is another world on the other side of that puddle. The clouds that you can see from the puddle are beautiful and really add to the picture, making it even more gorgeous. They greys and blacks and whites add to the picture even more, as I don’t think it would look as good in color. I get a very calming tone from this picture, it’s beautiful.
