My Dog Bear

I took this photo for a portrait assignment. It was early in the morning before school, and I decided to go outside and take photos of my dog, Bear. He was really hard to control, since he would jump everywhere. However in the end I think I got a good photo. I love how his eye is in focus and you can see the brown in his eye.  I tried to capture half of his body, which I think I did well and the coloring and lighting, I think it worked really well for this photo.

  1. I love the unique angle that was used to photograph this dog. The fact that the subject’s eye is in focus is great, like the dog is starring right at you. The depth of field use, and the subject not being centered really makes the photo.

The short depth of field, soft lighting, and textures in this photo all tie together to create a harmonious picture. It leads the eye smoothly too.
The photo seems a little bit dark, and it might’ve been better if either both of the dog’s eyes could have been included or just one eye instead of one of them being slightly cut out by the borders.

  3. This is really cute, and I love the angle and depth of field. The lighting is great, and I can actually feel the emotion within the dog’s eyes.

  4. I like this photo a lot. The depth of field is excellent. I like how it’s very close up to the dog. The cropping is also a nice add on.

  6. I love the depth of field, how the dogs body is out of focus. I like that you can see his eye so clearly, it makes you wonder what hes thinking. This has good focus, and I know that is hard to achieve with a dog. Great job!
