One Left

I took this photo on the ground near my church. I got out of the car and saw it laying on the ground and thought it was beautiful. I took this picture with my iphone, I wish I would have had my camera so I could of taken more detailed pictures of it. I love the contrast of the rocks on the leaf, and how you can see all the crystals of ice on the leaf. I also like the fact that the leaf is the only thing with ice on it, there is none left on the rocks. I love this picture because it shows the beauty of nature at its finest.

  1. This is a great picture even though if wasn’t done on an actual camera. I think one of the main things I like about it is how in focus the frozen leaf is and how much it stands out over the dark color of the rocks are in the background. I can imagine how good this picture could be if it was done with a camera.

  3. The one thing that really drew my attention to this photo was the texture of the leaf. It doesn’t look like just any old leaf. The white ice crystals makes it stand out more. The one thing I don’t like about the photo is there is one section of the leaf that isn’t covered in ice. I’m amazed you took this picture with a phone! Like my teacher says, it’s not the equipment, it’s what you do with it.

  4. I really like this picture, because of the focus, and the detail of the ice on the leaf. I think the rocks behind the leaf add a nice background and contrast to it, also I like the ice on the leaf, yet how the rocks are dry.

  5. This picture is great since it was taken with a iphone camera. I like the frost on the leaf with the dark rocks behind it. I also like how The leaf is in focus and how the frost contrasts the rocks.

  7. I really like this picture because when I took my first glance at it, I thought it was a fake cool looking leaf, but I clicked on the picture to make it bigger, then I got a look at what it really is. This picture Is really unique and the fact that it was taken at a church is even better.

  8. The colors in this picture are great. The frost on the leaf is a very cool contrast to the blues and browns of the rocks in the background. The focus is very good, and the leaf is portrayed perfectly, in this wintery weather.

  10. The first thing I notice about this photo is the amazing quality of the color. I feel like rocks are usually grey but these are a nice mix of blues and greens. For this being a phone picture, the detail and texture are fabulous. Very nice photo!

  11. This photo is great! I like how the rocks are wet and not snowy like the leaf. The snow gives it a good outline. The focus is good because I can see all the little strains of snow which also gives the photo more character. Centering the leaf was a good decision over rule of thirds. This is definitely a wall hanger. (:

  15. I love that the ice and the rocks are a great way to frame the picture. Also I enjoy the color of the ice and left, they just pop out with the grey rocks in the background. I think you did a great job of having it in the middle.

  16. Technical: Focus- The main focus of the image is the frostbit leaf that has frost coursing through the stem of the leaf. The focus of the image is soft because the leaf is in focus but isn’t in a very high resolution.
Composition: Centered- The main focus of the image is indeed centered. The chosen composition does work as the quantity of rocks is very abundant.
Aesthetic: Photographer’s Mood- I think the photographer’s intended mood like taking this image was very relaxed and natural, leaving the leaf as it was.
