Expanded

I took this picture when I was walking around my school campus. I ended up getting my camera level with the metal grating seen in the picture.  The one thing I don’t like about this photo is in the bottom left hand corner there is a slightly distracting background as well as the black triangle in the top left hand corner. I entered this photo in the libraries “Our Own Expressions” contest and took 2nd place in my category.

  1. A pop of color always draws my eye in. Besides the red ball, I first notice the reptition in this photo which creates a really cool textured look towards the back of the picture. I also really like how the red ball isn’t centered.

  2. The red ball of paper defiantly makes this photo great. The hum drum background that the grate lays, draws you attention straight to the perfect focus and vibrant colors that the paper portray. This photo is great, really good job!

  5. The red paper ball really drew me in, it has a great contrast between the darker background. The repitition in this photo also draws the eyes into the main subject, which makes it that much better.

  6. It’s a cool picture. It uses rules of thirds and repetition. The red napkin stands out amazingly. It makes me think on some sort of failed love story that ended badly…

  7. In this picture I really like the colouring of it. How the red stands out to the dark greys and rust colours. I love how the focus is mainly on the red, and it fades to make the left side, back, front, and background blurry. I don’t quite know the feeling in it, but I like how it is a deep feeling.

  8. I like this photo because it's the style of photos that I like to take. It's aesthetically pleasing and I would want to hang it on my wall. The red really pops with all the darker colors. The red ball isn't dead center which makes it more interesting. The feeling of this picture is somewhat sad and gloomy and makes you think.
