1st Barbeque of Spring

I really like this picture because of how in focus the food is and how the depth of field still shows what’s in the back but it’s not a crisp picture of it.  I took this picture outside after my dad had finished barbecuing dinner (it was really yummy). I like the fresh Spring colors of the salsa and the nice pink hue of the shrimp, along with the yellow of the shrimp. I like how the colors work together and how it’s such a simple picture but still has many items in it.  The one thing I don’t like is that under one of the front chips there is a green leaf and it’s kind of distracting but yet not. I just wish it wasn’t there.

  1. This looks so yummy! The colors are nice and the food looks very appealing. I don’t like the shrimp tail in the very front of the picture. I find it distracting. I do like the angle and how the shrimp create leading lines.

  2. I like this picture since it seems that there is no wasted space. I like the blurry Christmas lights in the background and how focused the wiped cream on the pie is. This photo makes me hungry.

  3. I really like how you can see the texture of the food and the depth of field with the other food in the back. This really does look like the 1st bbq of spring because of the lighting and the sun coming onto the plate. I also love how the shrimp is in a lime and it makes it all come together. Great shot!

  4. This picture makes me hungry and I just want to that right up. This is a picture I would want to put it in my kitchen. I like the different colors, it makes it pop out. Also, I like that you have the salsa out of focus and that you have some light coming from the other side. If I were you I would have the full chip on the left, but it is still good the way it is.
Hi best friend, your dad needs to make this for me now.

  5. The lighting of this is amazing; it highlights everything on the plate. The light/dark areas are perfect; the subject is not too bright while everything else is not too dark. I like this photo because it makes me feels excited for summer.

  6. I like how it was angled down. The different colors go together well and still are distinctive enough that you know what’s what.

  7. I like the angle of this photo and I also like the depth of field it has. The colors of the food make it stand out and make the food look really good.

  8. Ok, so first of all this looks so so so so good. It’s 9:03am and I’m starving! But anyways I like how the food is nice and bright in contrast to the plate and table. It makes your eyes focus on the center point of the photo. The focus is great on this photo making it clear of what it is; you can see the seasoning on the shrimp and browning in some areas. I’m hungry now =/.

  10. The focus of this picture is good and shows the detail of the food. The shrimp shows leading lines which leads me to the other food on the plate. This photo puts me in a good mood and makes me want shrimp.-Scott M FPHS

  11. One of the first things that caught my eye was how in focus the front food was. The depth of field is really nice and so is the color balance. This looks like it could be an ad for a restaurant.

  12. I really like the detail shown on all the food. The food brings back nostalgia of past family BBQ’s. The focus is on the chips but you get a lot of detail on the shrimp as well.
