Dreamy Sunset

I took this picture during the weekend when I was visiting friends in eastern Washington. My friends and I had decided to go on a walk and my friend had brought her camera along with her. The sun was setting as we were walking along a bridge and I saw this as an opportunity to capture the beautiful sunset, so I asked my friend to borrow her camera for a second. The colors had really popped out to me, I took a couple shots before I got this one and I was amazed at how nicely it came out since I have always had trouble capturing sunsets. I really love the contrast of the colors in this photo; it gives off a cool/dreamy vibe to me.

  1. I really like the reflection off of the water and I like how the one light is not in the middle and how the light reflects off of the railing. I also really like how the sky looks.

  2. I like the natural lighting from the sunset and how it brings out the trees and the skill. I like how the street lamp is off to the side adding something extra into the photo, so it is not all trees. I like this picture because of the lighting overall.

  3. The whole picture is in focus which makes everything in the photo stand out. The colors of this picture really stand out which make this picture even better. Also I would hang this photo on my wall because I feel like it is one of the best pictures I have seen. joe H-fphs

  4. The focus of this picture is superb. It generates a sense of good feelings and looks great. The light in the right third of the picture is a good use of the rule of thirds. This would look great in a family room or living room.

  5. The colors I would agree are great how the left side of the photo is dark and as you move to the right it becomes lighter is amazing. I really like the leading line of the rail to the light. The horizon line and everything just fits really well. Good Job.

  6. I like the one light on the light pole at the corner of the photo giving the picture a very odd lighting. It really adds to the photo. The guard rail leads my eyes directly to the light post and then follows out onto the water. Very amazing photo.

  7. I like that the light gets carried through the railing to just in front of the camera. The reflection on the water is really good. Since the clouds are darker around the outside, it helps draw my eyes in to the sunset.

  8. This is a great picture, the sky looks gorgeous and I like how the trees reflect in the water. The only not so good thing is that the dark colors blend together but since it looks really dark it still looks good.

  9. I like that the lighting is soft and that the lighting is in the back of the subject. It makes it enhance the subject. I think that you should have cropped out the city lights on the right side of the picture, because I look right at the post and follow it to the city. Over all, I like this picture it is a peaceful picture.

  10. This picture is amazing. I love the colors in it & the sky & tree line reflecting off the water. I like the light coming onto the railing. I like the colors of the sky. I think the maybe you could have added a boat or something a little extra in it. That would have made it perfect. (:

  11. I like the dark contrast. It’s a good Rule of Thirds shot. The lighting I think works really well along with the heavy contrast. Sweet

  12. The use of the sunset over the water, and the silhouette of the trees make for an amazing picture. The mood is perfect and over all a very good photo. I have nothing bad to say for this.

  14. I love sunsets, so it makes it easy for me to love this picture. The fact that the light pole is at the far right of the picture leaves a lot of room to view the colors of the sky. The colors are gorgeous. Very nice picture.

  16. The natural light and the street light really enhance the photo because the street lamp draws your attention. Also the leading lines of the railing draws your attention to the light. The mood of this picture would probably be dark calm but lonely.

  18. This photo is really pretty. I like the dramatic lighting (the contrast between the light and sky is striking), and everything is in focus. I also really like the leading line created by the railing that has the reflection of the light. The light area on the right is a good contrast to the dark sky. This is a great shot of the change from evening to night.

  19. This depth of field is absolutely astonishing. I also like the lighting, it adds more feeling. The color and Tonal Range is dark with a tinge of warmth which gives it a “hope in darkness” meaning. My mood, the photographer’s mood, just reflective, and calm.

  21. I like the hints of color in this photo

Depth of field is used in this photo by having the viewer look out toward the light, sky and trees.

The depth of field in this photo was done very well I like how there’s the closeness of the pole which is a bright color yet with the tress omitting a dark color that’s further away, and the pink sky that’s in the background , providing depth.

The mood this photo reflects is a very light peaceful mood

  22. I love how this photo sets a relaxed mood. The colors are perfect in the way that they contrast with each other, like how the sky is a cool purple and blue, while the bridge remains more of a red/yellow warming tone. The trees make a silhouette and also reflect onto the water. I also like how depth was used with the side of the bridge so you can see how long it was. This is a great photo and I enjoy looking at it!

  23. I love the color of this photo. When I look at it, it's very relaxed and calms like. The different color of the sky is very elegant like. It's very clear and pretty. The reflection in the water makes it seem to pop out more. The depth of field is used in this photo bye having the person looking at this photo out into the lights, the trees, and the sky. I love this photo, it makes me feel calm and really there.

  30. I really like this photo because of the balance. If the reflection of the bright light wouldn’t have been there is would have been a ok picture. But with it, it brightens up the picture and balances the darkness.
