The Lonely Dandelion

This was one of the first pictures I ever took in photography class. It was during a rule of thirds assignment. I really like the way I utilized rule of thirds in this picture. I used Photoshop to enhance the picture a little bit. It looked dull so I added some contrast and saturation to it.

  1. I like how simple this photo is. This photo uses a rule of thirds and I like that it really fits the picture. The depth of field in this picture I good because you get a sense of the flower’s size. The one brighter spot in the center of this picture gives it a good effect. This picture makes me happy because it makes it seem like spring is coming. The bright yellow color stands out and brings a joyful mood

  2. When you look at the picture you can clearly see it’s focused on the flower, but the sunlight kind of directly hits the ground and not really the flower, but the colors and tones look really nice. I really like this photo simply because it makes me feel happy, and in a good mood.

  3. I like the depth of field how the flower is in focus and everything behind it is blurred. Good rule of thirds. The saturation you used really brings out the yellow of the flower. That spot of light would of added to the picture more if it was directed at the flower. But I would hang it on my wall.

  4. This picture is great because the flower is bright yellow and everything around it is dead. I like how the first thing I see is that flower. It completely stands out.

  5. I like the way the dandelion stands out in the photo. Compare to the texture and colors of the dead grass, the flower looks brighter in color.

  6. The light in this photo complements the flower and is not over exposed. The flower is in one third of the photo which complements the photo nicely. The photo has a happy mood.

  7. The color of the dandelion just brings the tone of the picture up. It is like a small ray of sunshine in the pile of dead pines. The dandelion is focused well.

  8. This picture is a great example of rule of thirds. It also goes great with the title “The Lonely Dandelion” because the flower is in the shade while there is a sunspot next to it.
