Malisa

As I was taking pictures for my Portraits assignment I realized that this picture stood out. What made this picture stand out was the angle of this picture. What I like about this angle is that the subject (Malisa) is in focus, meanwhile everything is out of focus. Also, what I did to enhance this photo is I added a vignette and I adjusted the color with the photo filter. What could have enhanced this picture is if I did not cut off her head. But other than that, I think this photo turned out good.

Christmas Lights

I was taking photos for a painterly assignment and I took the camera home so I could capture photos of my tree. The shutter speed was at two seconds. Instead of just moving the camera all around I did little motions just going up and down, and got this. After getting the photo I adjusted the contrast and made the background darker where the lights got brighter.

Imagine

I took this photo on a senior photo shoot with several other girls. I was experiencing with a different types of shots than what I usually do – which is more standard senior photos (you know, leaning against a brick wall… that kind of thing). I wanted her to give just a natural stare at the camera, and I love how it turned out. Her dramatic eyelashes and eyeliner give a slight edge to the picture, but it still has a simplistic look to it. In post processing I turned the photo black and white and added the smallest purplish tint to it. If I could take the photo over again, I would have left just a bit more room on the left side of her head. Otherwise, I really like this photo and how it turned out.

Blue

I chose this photo because of how little I actually had to do to get this fine product. I was just messing around with the colors when I accidentally made my friend’s dog completely blue without making the picture look unrealistic in any other way. After that I changed the lighting, made it a bit darker and turned the contrast up to bring out a darker blue in her and this is the final result. She is actually a brownish-red, and some parts of the carpet are as well and that’s why there are bits of blue in it.

Walking Into the Distance

We were taking panoramas in class and I was experimenting with different angles. I like this angle as it kind of disappears into the distance. I also like how it gets brighter and the depth of field increases as you look down the walkway. I wish the light behind my legs weren’t there, it messes with the focus.

Morning in Mississippi

This picture was taken in Mississippi on a crisp October morning. The Man in the middle of the picture is my dad drinking his morning coffee and talking to one of our co-drivers. The rising sun was very large and I want a good silhouette picture and I think this one works just fine. I could make it black and white but I do think the orange and reddish color is beautiful.

Colors of

I picked this photo because of how well focused it is. I really like how I took this picture, it’s angled up. I zoomed in a little and used the macro to get that depth of field. I really like how the photo turned out to be. In Photoshop I changed the levels a bit; I made it a bit brighter. I also used HDR I wanted it to have a more high contrast.
